LEARNING

My Learning Style

Hello fellas, how are you doing? I hope y'all always stay healthy. Anyway, Merry Christmas everyone, may the joy of Christmas always be with you. May God always be with you😊
So, in this post I will discuss about my learning style. Happy reading😁
As students, of course we all have a plan or some plans that we want to achieve in the future, and in compiling that plan we must make decisions. I myself also have a plan to continue my studies to a higher level that is to graduate. I want to take my master degree in abroad through scholarships, hopefully this will be achieved. Amen🙏😊
To achieve the plan, I have to make some decisions, such as: studying harder to practice my written and spoken skills and discussing English questions so that I am accustomed to and able to pass the IELTS test because this is the most important thing to get a scholarship.
In learning of course everyone has a way or style of learning that varies according to their personalities. In general there are four types of learning styles, namely:

1. Auditory learners

Auditory learners prefer to get information by listening. They like to learn through lectures, group discussion, and conversations.

2. Visual learners

Visual learners like to take in new information by seeing. Photos, charts, drawings, and diagrams help them to understand new ideas.

3. Kinesthetic learners

Kinesthetic learners understand things best through experience and practice. They like to make things and use their bodies.

4. Reading/writing learners.

Reading/writing learners understand new information best when they read or write words. Using a textbook and reading articles are activities they prefer.

I myself, actually have a blend of the four types of learning styles above. But more prominent, in my opinion are visual learners. Because I am easier to understand and remember lessons with visuals. Like videos, photos, or diagrams. How about you? What kind of learning style do you prefer among the four types of learning style above?
As a prospective teacher who will teach later, I recommend teaching methods that integrate the four types of learning styles. So, as I said before the learning style of every child is different according to their personalities. So, by seeing this, teacher as an aducator should be able to adjust the teaching style to the personality of their students. So each of them, all can study well. So, here I recommend that when teachers teach, they do not only use one method, but all methods alternately so that each child can follow the learning well. Such as preparing learning materials with animated presentations, watching films, practice firsthand, writing and listening, games, etc. Thus students will also not feel bored, rigid, and depressed when learning but they will learn while having fun.

MYSTERIES

Mystery in my place

Hello fellas, how have you been? I hope all of you are always healthy. So, this time I want to discuss about mystery. When you first hear the word mystery, what is the thing that comes to your mind?
For me, when I hear the word mystery, the things that popped into my mind are occult, supernatural, magical, and creepy things that give me goosebumps. According to wikipedia, the meaning of mystery is something that is not known with certainty and attracts people's curiosity. Mystery is usually associated with horror and supernatural events.
Examples of things that are considered mysteries:
1. Loss of ships and aircraft in the Bermuda Triangle region.
2. The presence of the sea monster "Nessie" in Loch Ness, Scotland.
3. How the rocks at Stonehenge formed
Nazca Lines painter.
4. Giant paintings that unfold in the desert.
5. Unknown flying objects called UFOs.

Every place has to have events, creatures, or objects that the local people have considered mysterious and widely believed.
Likewise in my place, as I have told before in previous post, I live in a small village in North Sumatra. I come from the Batak tribe, where many places, events, and mysterious creatures are considered real by the residents in the Batak area. One of them is a mysterious creature called "Homang".
Almost all Bataknese have known what is meant by the Homang, although not everyone believes in this creature because no one has seen this creature directly. All Bataknese who know this creature usually knew it from many oldster who used to scare their children if they are undisciplined. Same with me, when I was a child, my parents used to scare me when I cried. She said that children who cry a lot will be taken away by Homang and bring them in to a tall tree. There the Homang will tickle all the children to death. Homang also likes to make children who used to travel alone get lost. They lead children astray by imitating the voice of the children's parents, and telling them to follow their voices. They will get the child to a faraway place and when the kids get lost they'll leave them there alone. They usually lead the children to the middle of the jungle. That's why when I was a kid, I don't want to go everywhere by myself.
Actually I have never seen Homang directly but from the stories of many people, they said that the shape and appearance of Homang is like a monkey but its size is bigger, the fur is so long that it touches the ground, and its legs are reversed. So, if we see the traces of Homang as seen away from us, it is actually closer to us. If we meet Homang in forest we have to run as fast as possible so they can't approach us and close our ears so we can't hear their voices because they can hypnotize us by changing their voices into our parents' voices or whoever that we know.

DANGER

STUNG BY BEES

Hello my lovely friends, glad to see y'all again. How are you, guys? I hope all of you are good. Have you ever been stung by bees? When and where? Same with y'all, I have also ever been stung by bees.

I got stung by bees when I was a kid. So my family have a garden in our village. Our garden is quite extensive, there we plant various plants, e.g. coffee, avocado, guava, mango, passion fruit, and others. One day, during the coffee harvest season, our family went to the garden to harvest coffee. The distance from our house to the garden is quite far, so we usually ride a motorcycle when we want to go to the garden. If I'm not mistaken I was still sitting on the elementary school back then. So, my mother did not require me to take part in harvesting coffee. But because at that moment I had never been go to the garden for a long time, so, I insisted to come along with my parents and siblings to the garden. Although my goal is not actually to harvest the coffee, but to play and to take passion fruit and guava, hehehe.
So, when I got to the garden I initially helped my parents to pick the coffee. But after a few minutes, I was bored and I decided to go to climb the guava tree and pick some guava fruits. Because the branches of our guava tree was flexible at the time, I shook the branches so it swayed and I'll feel like I were swinging. But when I did that, my mother admonished me that it was dangerous and asked me to stop swinging and to get off from the tree.
But I did not want to listen to my mother's advice, I remained in the tree while eating the guava fruit and continued to swing like a monkey, wkwkwk.
When I was having fun swinging, suddenly I felt like there was something piercing my hand with a needle. I was so shocked, but I don't feel hurt at all. So, I assumed that it was just my feeling. But suddenly there was another sting on my cheek, this time it really hurts, and not only that, suddenly there were lots of bees that stung me. I immediately screamed and rushed down from the tree, then I ran to my mother while crying. Aparently there were bees nesting in the guava tree.
While I cried out in pain my mother scolded me, "I told you not to play in the tree, but you don't want to listen to me, now this is what you got due to your stubbornness", my mother screamed at me. Meanwhile, I was just crying and regretting my stubbornness.
Then my mother screwed up some leaves and attaches them to all the parts of my body that was stung by the bees and then asked my father to take me home. On the way, I covered my face with cloth because my face and body were swollen.
Things that I got from this experience are:
1. Don't be stubborn.
2. When stung by bees, immediately run away from the place where the bees stung you.
3. Screw up some leaves from the grass and stick it to the body that is stung by bees to  to reduce pain.
Okay, that's all for now, see you in my next post:)
